Suzana Matić

Suzana Matić was born in Mainz, Germany, in 1970. She grew up and finished her education in Zagreb, where she earned a degree in architecture.

 

Her first published book was Samosanacije (Algoritam, Zagreb, 2012). Three years later she published her second book, Koliko sam puta okidala s boka (Algoritam, Zagreb, 2015), with the same publisher. In January 2016 Matić published Drugojačija (VBZ, Zagreb, 2016), a books of poems. Samosanacije was also published in Serbia (Factum, Belgrade, 2015). She just finished her fourth book Ne naginji se unutra, and it will be published in september 2017.

 

Several of her works were read on the national radio, and she has submitted short stories for publishing in newspapers and literary magazines Večernji list, Zbornik Trećeg programa, Književna republika, Fantom slobode and Zbornik gornjogradskog književnog glasnika, while her poems were published in literary magazines Poezija, Artikulacije and Zarez.


Her short story "Jer ja to zaslužujem" was short-listed for the Karver award at the Vranac short-story contest at the International Literary Festival in Podgorica, in 2015. Her short story "Zalogaji" was short-listed for the International short-story contest Lapis Histriae, in 2017. Her short story "Z kao Zeljka" was short-listed for the short-story contest at Festival of the European Short Story in Zagreb, in 2017. Her works are translated and published in magazine Relations.
